Living the high life: Pippa Middleton joins ANOTHER member of New York's elite for a rooftop tour of Soho House

By Deborah Arthurs

Despite having been in New York for less than a week, Pippa Middleton has stepped out with yet another member of New York's smart set.

The Duchess of Cambridge's sister, who turned 29 yesterday, was seen at Soho House on Manhattan's Meatpacking District with Alexander Gilkes.

The ex-Etonian, 33, who owns a marketing company in SoHo, was seen holding the door of the private members club open for Pippa.

Chivalrous: Ex-Etonian Alex Gilkes accompanied Pippa Middleton to Soho House this afternoon

Firm friends: Mr Gilkes, who married fashion designer Misha Nonoo last month, appeared to have gifted Miss Middleton a bright red dress from his wife's label

But anyone hoping for a budding romance would be disappointed to learn that Mr Gilkes married fashion designer Misha Nonoo this summer.

In fact, Ms Nonoo's star looks set to be on the rise, as Pippa's red dress just happened to be one of her designs.

She completed the look with matching French Sole ballet pumps and the wicker Kate Spade bag that has accompanied her throughout the trip - she certainly looked camera ready as she smiled and waved for those wishing to take her picture.

The two were joined by friends on the rooftop of the private members club, where Mr Gilkes was seen showing Pippa around the terrace.

Girl about town: Pippa looked polished as ever in the scarlet Misha Nonoo design and French Sole flats

He looked smart in navy jacket and chinos, with a knitted blue tie - the very embodiment of preppy sophistication.

Pippa's female friend was the perfect sartorial companion, elegant in a printed red dress and carrying a large Hermes handbag.

Pippa's trip to the Big Apple coincides with the run-up to the launch of her book, Celebrate, which is a party guide that offers tips for planning events throughout the year.

Pippa, who is thought to have split with on-off boyfriend Alex Loudon some months ago, has been well received by her friends and contacts Stateside, enjoying the social whirl that has been her experience of the city some suggest she is considering moving to.

After an opulent welcome that saw her flown by U.S. billionaire Andre Balazs to his exclusive resort, she has stepped out on two occasions with 6ft 3in Spencer Vegosen, a 24-year-old Goldman Sachs banker, Harvard graduate and accomplished tennis player who accompanied her to the U.S. Open on two occasions - and also escorted Pippa to dinner on her birthday.

Lunch date: Mr Gilkes and Miss Middleton were seen leaving Soho House together this afternoon

Stylish: Pippa was immaculately presented in a $395 (£246) red dress from New York-based label Misha Nonoo, with Givenchy sunglasses and matching French Sole ballet pumps

Whirlwind: Pippa has made the most of her time Stateside, visiting the city's finest restaurants - with some of the most eligible bachelors

Pippa's trip to Soho House comes at the end of a maelestrom of glittering engagements.

In an opulent welcome, hotelier Andre Balazs, who is reportedly worth more than $450 million, flew her by seaplane to his resort, Sunset Beach, on Shelter Island on Sunday.

Later that evening, Pippa was spotted at the Electric Room at Dream Downtown in the Meatpacking district with former New York Ranger Sean Avery.

Winning streak: Tennis fan Pippa enjoyed a day at the U.S. Open where she spent the afternoon chatting to Spencer Vegosen

The following day, she attended day nine of the U.S. Open as a guest of Roger Federer, where she sat next to Mr Vegosen.

Later that evening, Miss Middleton and Mr Vegosen enjoyed a lavish dinner at the Le Bernardin restaurant, which is famous for its seafood.

And yesterday, Pippa, wearing a canary yellow shift dress, attended another day at the U.S. Open where she cheered Andy Murray to victory.

For each engagement, Pippa has been picture perfect. Her wardrobe has been well put together - clearly Pippa is a proficient packer. The same shoes she wears today - her Russell & Bromley Coco Pop wedges - have made more than one appearance, while the Kate Spade handbag - the ideal day-to-night accessory - has more than earned its keep (and its cost-per-wear).

Pippa is expected to attend some of the events at New York Fashion week before she returns to the UK.

PIPPA'S BIG APPLE ACCESSORIES

Seasoned traveller Pippa knows how to pack a suitcase - as evidenced by the neat capsule wardrobe that she has taken with her to New York.

She has kept her shoe collection to a minimum, wearing her trusty Russell & Bromley Coco Pop wedges on various occasions, and carrying her £250 Kate Spade bag (which given the label's popularity in the States, could well have been a purchase she has made since landing in the Big Apple. Her sunglasses are Givenchy - one of two pairs she has worn on the trip. The other has been a white Kate Spade pair, which again could be a holiday buy.

Happy birthday Pippa! Miss Middleton starts early birthday celebrations by cheering Andy Murray to victory in a summery yellow dress

By Bianca London and Sadie Whitelocks

Pippa Middleton celebrated her 29th birthday in style last night, by cheering Andy Murray to victory in the US Open quarter-final.

The Duchess of Cambridge's sister donned a vibrant lacy yellow dress, nude wedges and carried a straw handbag at the match.

Once inside the courts she promptly took a seat next to dark-haired, 6ft 3in Spencer Vegosen - a Harvard graduate and accomplished tennis player - before watching the men's quarter final game unfold.

Avid tennis fan Pippa looked like she was enjoying the game, it was her second day at the tennis

Pippa wore a lacy yellow dress and had her hair in loose curls as she took her seat next to Harvard graduate Spencer

It is not the first time that Pippa has taken a seat next to Mr Vegosen, they both cheered Roger Federer to glory just a day ago on day nine of the competition.

Mr Vegosen, who now resides in New York but is originally from Illinois, Chicago is a familiar face on the sporting scene and he was once one of the top junior tennis players in the U.S, winning 11 sportsmanship awards. His father Jon is also president of the U.S.Tennis Association.

It is believed Mr Vegosen received a BA in East Asian studies and mathematics from Harvard University and spent last summer working in Hong Kong as an analyst for Goldman Sachs. However it is not known where he currently works.

The pair laughed and joked together at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre in Flushing, Queens, New York.

Pippa smiled as she watched Murray play and was joined by a brunette friend

Pippa was also joined by a brunette friend and the two seemed in high spirits as they clapped and cheered on the Scottish player who, from the dire straits of 6-3, 5-1 down when he could barely get the ball in the court, fought back to win 3-6, 7-6, 6-2, 6-0 in three hours to keep his Grand Slam dream alive.

After finishing he was able to relax and see who his next opponent would be in his second straight semi-final at Flushing Meadows — whether it would be a rematch of his epic two clashes with Roger Federer at Wimbledon this year or a less expected contest with Czech powerhouse Tomas Berdych.

In the end Berdych shocked Federer in four sets and Murray now has two days to compose himself after making what was an awkward assignment against the 6ft 6in Croat look exactly that.

Avid tennis fan Pippa also attended the match between Tomas Berdych and Roger Federer, as his guest of honour in his box.

Roger Federer cut a disconsolate figure as he tried to come to terms with his shock quarter-final exit against an inspired Tomas Berdych at the US Open.

Not since 2003 had Federer lost before the semi-final stage at Flushing Meadows, winning five titles in that time, and he went into the tournament on a high after a stellar summer.

Pippa was spotted after the match bonding with Federer's wife Miroslava Vavrinec Federer as they left the stadium.

Since landing in the metropolis on Saturday to attend meetings about her upcoming book, Celebrate: A Year of Festivities for Families and Friends, Pippa has been snapped with a number of men while sampling some of New York's finer delights.

Pippa was seen socialising with Roger Federer's wife Miroslava Vavrinec Federer at the US Open Tennis Center in New York City after the game

In an opulent welcome hotelier Andre Balazs, who is reportedly worth more than $450 million, flew her by seaplane - a trip that costs $525 for a single journey - to his resort, Sunset Beach, on Shelter Island on Sunday.

And later that evening the New York Daily News reported that she was spotted at the Electric Room at Dream Downtown in the Meatpacking district with former New York Ranger Sean Avery.

'She was only there for a short time,' a source told the paper, adding they were there with Mazdack Rassi, owner of photography company Milk Studios.

It has been suggested that Pippa is staying at the Carlyle Hotel located in the Upper East Side, where Roger Federer also has a suite, with two friends, where rooms start at $600 and reach $15,000 - without taxes.

Her trip, during which she is apparently courting the perks of fame, come despite her demands to remain out of the public gaze.

Pippa scored a style ace the day before when she watched Samantha Stosur of Australia play Victoria Azarenka of Belarus during the quarterfinals match

While newspapers have respected her request to be recognised as a private citizen, she still very much seems to be enjoying the high-flying life of a socialite.

Despite her request, U.S. news sites chose to publish photographs of her playing table tennis with Balazs over the weekend, but MailOnline has respected her wishes.

Pippa, who turns 29 today, is in town for meetings over her new book, which is out on October 30. She will not be holding an publicity events for the book while she is here, Viking publishers said.

Billed as a 'comprehensive seasonal guide to simple and creative entertaining', it is a book she hopes will cement her credentials as a party planner, and industry observers believe it could net her a small fortune in the process.

It is believed that Pippa is set to make an appearance at New York's Fashion Week, which kicks off on tonight.

The ultimate wedding guest: Pippa Middleton shows off her impeccable taste at another big day

-The Duchess of Cambridge's sister wore a bright orange-red dress with navy accessories
-Couple are close friends of Prince William's and attended royal wedding

By Emma Reynolds

Bright idea: Pippa looks radiant in a orange-red dress, navy accessories and understated gold jewellery

Pippa Middleton showed off her impeccable taste in wedding outfits again today as she attended the union of close friends in London.

The Duchess of Cambridge's stylish sister wore a bright orange-red dress with short sleeves and sheer panels, accessorising with contrasting navy blue hat, matching clutch and satin court shoes.

The happy couple, Katherine Phillips and David Marsham, are close friends of both William and Kate, and attended the royal wedding last year.

Pretty as a picture: Pippa showed off her tan in the sophisticated but fun dress as she chatted to a friend

After her rear stole the spotlight at her sister's wedding thanks to her figure-hugging bridesmaid's gown, Pippa has built up a reputation for having the perfect wedding guest look.

The 28-year-old looked radiant today with her hair pulled back, adding simple gold hooped earrings, a ring and a gold-edged clutch bag.

She frequently picks bright colours in a demure cut for weddings, and recently wore a pink wrap Issa dress for a friend’s wedding in Scotland, along with a similar headpiece, covered in netting and pink flowers.

The loud shade and sheer panels on her outfit today were balanced out by the high neck and navy trim, plus lashing of her trademark thick black eyeliner.

David, Viscount Marsham, is one of the Duke of Cambridge's 'inner sanctum' friends, and was seated in the Statesmen’s Aisle in Westminster Abbey’s north transept for the royal wedding, which was reserved for the couple’s close friends and family.

Jewel in the crown: Pippa opted for a striking navy blue headpiece, gold hoops and a gold ring

The Kate effect: Katherine Phillips looked elegant in a veil and white lace while David, Viscount Marsham, wore a double-breasted waistcoat

The Duke of Cambridge was also expected to attend the glamorous event, but was not spotted among the elegant guests chatting in the sunshine outside.

David and Katherine, both 35, followed in William and Kate's footsteps by getting engaged after celebrating with the nation at the wedding last year.

Even Katherine's gown was reminiscent of the Duchess's wedding outfit, as she chose a veil, white lace and sleeved cover-up.

David, a former major in the Scots Guards and heir of the Earl of Romney, delighted his parents with the news of his engagement. 'We are so excited for him,' said his mother, the Countess of Romney.

Vous parlez Francais? Oui, un petit Pip-peu! Behind-the-scenes footage of Pippa Middleton filmed at dwarves and chastity belt party

By Deborah Arthurs

Pippa is interviewed by French news organisation Le Petit Journal, who ask her what she thinks of the 'French flair'. 'Amazing!' she replies

Film footage from a lavish Marie Antoinette-themed party attended by Pippa Middleton has been released on the website of French television channel Canal+.

Attending the fancy dress party in Paris last Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge's sister looks to be having a whale of a time.

Accompanied by three of the French capital's most eligible bachelors, the 28-year-old, dressed as a risque French courtier, unleashes her best moves on the dancefloor among a heaving melée of cavorting dwarves, burlesque strippers bursting out of giant cakes and aristocratic French men wearing dog leads.

Later, she is clearly uncomfortable with further interviews. 'I don't want to speak in front of the cameras,' she tells Vicomte Marcy after he asks her to tell the interviewer what she thinks of their party

But Marcy nevertheless pushes on, telling the TV crew that Pippa is his new girlfriend. And while she laughs along, one suspects she wishes she could walk away

'Do you speak French, Pippa?' the interviewer asks. 'Un petit peu,' she replies, before dancing away

Her party host was the Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait, who was turning 30, while the rest of her merry band for the weekend were his dark-haired, dashing little brother, the Vicomte Marcy; and the equally eligible restaurateur and TV producer Antoine de Tavernost.

In video footage from the night shot by Le Petit Journal, Pippa looks to be in high spirits, laughing and joking with the television interviewer with an equally high-spirited Vicomte Marcy by her side.

But while she appears to be all smiles, Pippa is clearly reluctant to appear in front of the camera - but is equally reluctant to offend her hosts.

Looking slightly awkward, Pippa expresses concern to her friend about appearing on television, saying she would be happy to pose for photographs but that she would rather not talk to the camera.

Nevertheless, the cameraman - and Pippa's chaperone - continue to urge her into the spotlight, perhaps aware of the global exposure any footage of Pippa might bring.

When the interviewer asks Pippa what she thinks of the 'French flair', she replies, laughing, that she thinks it is 'amazing' before turning away.

Later, the cameras turn back to Pippa, as she is heard telling Vicomte Marcy that the song currently playing is in the film Drive.

Embarrassed, Pippa laughs off the suggestion that she is the new girlfriend of Vicomte Marcy

Later, the Duchess's sister is seen from afar, dancing in the crowd, unaware she is being filmed

Marcy turns to the camera and asks Pippa if she will say to the television camera what she thinks of the party.

Looking uncomfortable, but clearly keen not to offend her host, Pippa says to her friend through a polite smile that she is happy to pose for photographs, but that she would rather not talk to the camera.

Unfazed, her friend jokes to the camera that Pippa is his new 'petite amie' (girlfriend), and Pippa throws her head back and laughs in response - though one suspects that she is rather regretting the exposure, but feels the burden of politeness forcing her to go along with the gag.

'Do you speak French, Pippa?' the interviewer presses on. 'Un petit peu!' she replies, before her friend corrects her French, and the two dance off.

Later in the video, Pippa is seen chatting to friends, turning her head away when she spots a camera pointing in her direction, and is later captured from afar, dancing, hands in the air, to Alicia Keys' song, Streets Of New York.

It is one thing to let loose at a party, but another entirely for the revelry to be captured on television camera.

One might suppose that the honourable way for Pippa's French hosts to behave would have been to let their British consort party in private.

Regrettably, it looks as though these attention-seeking men don't know the meaning of the word.

Kissing in the corner, Pippa's clinch with Paris playboy

By REBECCA ENGLISH AND LOUISE ECCLES

Pippa Middleton was seen passionately kissing a notorious Paris playboy during her ‘wild weekend’ in the city, the Mail can reveal.

According to eye-witnesses, Prince William’s sister-in-law and Antoine de Tavernost sneaked off to a quiet corner at the debauched party thrown by French fashion entrepreneur, Vicomte Arthur de Soultrait.

Hours after the Friday night party, Pippa found herself at the centre of controversy after one of her companions brandished a gun at photographers.

But last night the Vicomte’s brother tried to play down the incident and said that Pippa was treating the entire incident ‘as a joke’.

Marcy de Soultrait insisted the gun in question was a child’s toy and that the royal in-law thought the entire incident was ‘a very funny game’. Speaking from the family chateau in Presles, just outside Paris, de Soultrait told the Mail last night: ‘Pippa is a very good friend of mine and this gun affair is very silly.

‘It was a children’s toy that the driver had in his car. Pippa thought it was funny. It is fine in France to do that and the police are not investigating. In France there is no problem, just in England. You English think there is a problem, which is crazy.

‘I have spoken with Pippa, she thinks this is all a joke and a funny game. We were just having a laugh. We are funny people, it’s what we do.

‘The paparazzo saw the toy and he knew it was a toy, he has said so. You English need to get over it. It was just a joke that has been blown out of all proportion.’

In fact, an ongoing police inquiry is causing acute embarrassment to the Royal Family — only last year, the Mail can reveal, the Vicomte was photographed with the Queen when his firm provided the clothing for the GCC Polo Cup held at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor.

Pippa and Antoine were pictured leaving the party hand-in-hand

The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister was invited to Paris by the Vicomte for his 30th birthday party at the Theatre St Germain, an upmarket restaurant and nightclub. As the champagne flowed, Pippa, 28, was seen in a corner in an intimate embrace with Antoine de Tavernost, whom, it is claimed, she’d just met.

The couple were later photographed walking hand-in-hand as they arrived at a post-party soiree at the nearby Le Schmuck restaurant, in which de Tavernost has a share.

A well-placed source, backed by another independent witness, told the Mail: ‘She was kissing Antoine de Tavernost. He is the son of the chairman of a big TV station. He is quite wealthy and lives in Paris. They seemed like girlfriend and boyfriend on Friday night, but Antoine will see it as a bit of fun, nothing more.

‘They met for the first time at the party. They were chatting and dancing. Then later they were seen kissing in the corner.

‘Apart from this, she was very well behaved. They left together, at about 2.30am, to go to a restaurant called Schmuck St Germain, where he is a partner.

‘Then they went to Regine, another nightclub. I don’t know if they went home together.’

Pippa p-p-p-picks up a perfect party book deal: Penguin pays her £400,000 after winning bidding war

By Katie Nicholl

Pippa Middleton has signed a six- figure deal to write a book about being the perfect party hostess.

The younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge is believed to be banking a cheque for £400,000 after a fierce bidding war with some of the country’s biggest publishing houses.

Pippa’s literary agent David Godwin is believed to have finalised the deal last week, which is understood to be with publisher Michael Joseph, an imprint of Penguin books.

HarperCollins and Random House’s subsidiary, Cornerstone, were also said to be keen to buy the book, but Penguin outbid them.

Pippa, 28, has told friends she signed the deal last week and will not be employing a ghost writer. She has been setting aside several hours a day to draft chapters.

‘Pippa says it’s a nerve-racking prospect but she is looking forward to the challenge of writing her first book,’ said a friend. ‘She had to deliver a synopsis that was sent to a number of publishers under a strict confidentiality agreement. There were some serious offers, but Penguin stumped up the most cash.

‘It will be about entertaining and how to throw the perfect party. It’s not just about being the perfect hostess – it will also include recipes and information about how to host different types of events.

‘Pippa has been sketching out the chapters and has decided to start each one with an amusing anecdote.’

Pippa has the full backing of sister Kate, who thinks the idea is ‘brilliant’. As a professional party planner for London-based events company Table Talk, she is in the perfect position to write about hosting parties.

New project: The book is a welcome distraction for Pippa who has separated from her long-term boyfriend Alex Loudon recently

She is also a talented writer and edits The Party Times, an online newsletter on her parents’ Party Pieces website. She is, however, keen not to be seen to be cashing in on her Royal connections and, as well as consulting her family about the book, she spoke to St James’s Palace before signing.

‘Pippa has turned down the offer to be a lady-in-waiting for her sister and wants a career in her own right. But she knows she can’t be seen to be making money out of her connections. Kate thinks it’s a brilliant idea,’ says the friend.

The book is a welcome distraction for Pippa who has separated from her long-term boyfriend Alex Loudon, say friends. ‘She is throwing herself into her book and it’s helping to distract her. She’s had a horrid time.’

Careful you don't fall on that famous derrière! Pippa Middleton gets her skates on for a twirl around the ice

By Emily Sheridan

Get your skates on: Pippa Middleton looks at home on the ice as she skates at the launch of Tiffany & Co presents Skate at Somerset House in London

There's been a lot of attention on her derrière since the Royal Wedding in April.

So tonight, Pippa Middleton had to make sure she didn't fall on it as she took to the ice at Somerset House.

Joined by some girl friends, the newly-single socialite, 27, showed off her ice-skating skills at the launch of Tiffany & Co. Presents Skate at Somerset House.

The party planner looked like she had embraced the wintry theme in a chic white coat, which she teamed with a pair of black jeans and leather gloves.

Perhaps demonstrating she was no stranger to ice-skating, Miss Middleton managed to glide around quite gracefully without falling over.

After enjoying a twirl on the ice, Pippa and the rest of the attendees watched singer Emeli Sande light up the Christmas tree before performing an acoustic set.

Keeping a low-profile: The event marks Pippa's first public outing since her recent split from Alex Loudon

Also in attendance was Dame Judi Dench, interior designer Kelly Hoppen, designer Julien MacDonald, swimwear designer Melissa Odabash and Tali Lennox.

Pippa has been keeping a low-profile since her recent split from Alex Loudon, 31, after 18 months together.

She pulled out of the Square Mile Masked Ball this month after reportedly been advised by her older sister.

Girls' night out: Pippa was joined by a blonde friend as they whizzed around the ice holding hands

It was claimed former cricketer Loudon was uncomfortable with Pippa's newfound celebrity since her sister Duchess Catherine's wedding to Prince William in April.

A friend said: 'The plain truth is Alex adored Pippa but he couldn’t stand the circus that now surrounds her. Nothing is straightforward anymore.'

The younger Middleton sister's appearance at Somerset House comes as a version of her Alexander McQueen bridesmaid gown went on sale.

The Sarah Burton-designed dress, which launched Pippa onto the international stage as 'her royal hotness', is for sale at £1,995.

Pippa Middleton and boyfriend Alex Loudon 'split after blazing rows'

By Lucy Buckland

All smiles: The couple looked closer than ever at The Boodles Boxing Charity Ball in July

Pippa Middleton is said to have split from her long term boyfriend ex-cricketer Alex Loudon.

Friends said the 27-year-old Royal bridesmaid and her 31-year-old beau finally called time on their three-year relationship after a string of arguments.

A source told The Sun that Pippa, whose profile sky-rocketed after the Royal Wedding, had sought refuge with her sister after the split.

The unnamed friend told the paper: 'Pippa tried to get over the split by spending last weekend with Wills and Kate at Balmoral.

'She and Alex split briefly in the summer — but this time it's over. They are barely speaking.'

During the couple's brief separation Pippa was spotted in the company of her former boyfriend and close friend, George Percy in Madrid, before reconciling with Loudon.

Happier times: Pippa Middleton and Alex Loudon, pictured here in June, are believed to have split after a string of blazing rows

Still going strong: Pippa Middleton and boyfriend Alex Loudon had dismissed split rumours earlier this year

But friends said this time their separation is for good after a series of rows, one which erupted at an acquaintance's wedding.

It is believed Loudon, a city banker, had found it difficult to deal with Pippa's sudden fame as a sex symbol.

While other friends revealed their relationship started crumbling after the Royal Wedding in April.

High profile: Friends said Pippa's new status as a sex symbol made Alex uncomfortable

A source told the tabloid: 'It was said after the wedding that Alex was jealous of Pippa flirting with Prince Harry. But the truth is she and Harry are just mates.'

In the weeks after her sister got married Pippa's derrière became so popular it was even given its own Facebook page and social networking site Twitter went crazy with people calling the party planner 'Her Royal Hotness', a nickname first used in Royal Wedding reports filed by the Daily Mail's Catherine Ostler.

Sisterly comfort: Pippa is believed to have sought solace with her sister the Duchess of Cambridge (seen here at a wedding in June)

Although the pair's relationship had been known to friends as volatile in recent months it hadn't always been the case with rumours the former England cricketer was apparently preparing to pop the question surfacing just weeks ago.

The 31-year-old had apparently asked one of his friends to look for engagement rings for him, out in the Cotswolds.

And Loudon had reportedly put a lot of thought into how to keep the proposal quiet, although it turns out it any careful preparations may be in vain.

The MailOnline contacted Pippa Middleton for a comment but she was unavailable.

Red alert: Did Pippa Middleton go too far with her plunging halterneck dress?

By Daily Mail Reporter

Pippa Middleton wore a red satin gown by Temperley and clutch by Wilbur & Gussie for the Boodles Boxing Ball charity event on Saturday night

Pippa Middleton quite clearly stole the show at a charity boxing match on Saturday night.

Despite being surrounded by Royals and celebrities, no one could argue that the Duchess of Cambridge's sister was the centre of attention.

While her plunging red halterneck dress by Temperley was on trend - both Geri Halliwell and Prince William's ex girlfriend Jecca Craig wore similar versions to the event - Pippa's gown was slightly more revealing.

The Duchess of Cambridge's sister is used to causing a stir wherever she goes

Not subject to the same protocol as Kate, the pretty brunette can wear whatever she wants and get away with it.

But did Pippa need to make such a bold wardrobe statement?

At the Royal Wedding, her fitted but demure Alexander McQueen dress was enough to propel her to instant stardom.

Geri Halliwell, left and Jecca Craig, both wore similar dresses to the event

And up until now, she has always presented herself as elegant and ladylike with her style choices - a refreshing alternative that has no doubt contributed to her popularity.

She was however subject to an embarrassing moment at London Fashion Week earlier this month.

Pippa almost - but not quite - suffered a wardrobe malfunction when her dress pulled up after she sat down.

Pippa experienced an uncomfortable moment at London Fashion Week last month when she almost suffered a wardrobe malfunction

She spent the duration of the show holding her hands tightly clasped together.

But on Saturday night, Pippa confidently carried off the Begonia Dress from the Autumn / Winter 2011 collection.

However, Daily Mail's Style Director Liz Jones called the outfit 'inappropriate'.

Pippa's Royal Wedding outfits propelled her to stardom

She said: 'The dress is completely inappropriate, with no support.

'I hate cleavage at the best of times, and Pippa cannot now really object to any comments about her shape or hounding by the press as this dress says, Look at me!

'You see the problem is this dress looked great on the catwalk, but the model was flat chested.

'The look doesn't translate as yet again a designer hasn't made a dress with a real woman (no matter she has connections) or real social occasions.'

Either way, Pippa continues to be a constant source of fascination.

And regardless of her wardrobe choices, that is unlikely to change anytime soon.
