Peter Andre keeps vigil at sick brother's bedside after he's rushed to hospital

Peter Andre spent the weekend at his sick brother Andrew's bedside after he was rushed to hospital just hours after arriving in England.

Andrew, who was diagnosed with kidney cancer last month, arrived from Australia on Thursday, but was taken to Accident and Emergency with a suspected clot on his lung on Friday.

The 54-year-old was due to start chemotherapy this week, but was rushed to a hospital near Peter's Surrey home after falling ill.

After spending the weekend in hospital, he was apparently released on Sunday evening, according to their brother Michael.

Michael tweeted last night: 'Hey'all... Thx for all ur kind words...:-) Andrew is ok at the moment and back home with us... Thanks again for ur concerns..:-).'

Although Peter, 39, hasn't addressed the latest incident directly on his Twitter page, he and manager Claire Powell have swapped public messages on the micro-blogging site.

The singer ended up cancelling a barbecue to spend the day with his brother in hospital.

Powell wrote on Sunday: 'Shame about today call me when you leave A&E hope everything ok.'

To which Peter replied: 'Thanks babe, will call you as soon as I leave.'

Earlier this month, Peter revealed he was moving his brother over from Australia so he can get the best treatment and be cared for by his siblings, who live in England.

He wrote in his new! magazine column: 'Andrew and his wife Magda are going to live with me and my other brothers Mike, Danny and Chris in my house and we're going to look after him while he has treatment.

'My parents, who live in Australia, are nearly 80 and I really don't want them to see Andrew going through the chemotherapy and all that stuff.

'My dad had such terrific treatment over here when he was ill last year, so he knows that it's the best place for Andrew.

'I'm going to build a small extension onto my house so there's room for everyone!

It's not definite they're all going to move in, but at the moment that's the plan. I need an extension so that when I've got the kids there will be room for all of us.'

He claimed that she begged him to reconcile their relationship and that she was obsessed with him.

But Katie Price has hit back at Peter Andre's accusations and suggested that he is the one who can't let go.

Peter gave an interview this week in which he said that there was no way that he and his ex-wife would reconcile.


In the interview with heat magazine, which was published yesterday, he suggested that she asked him to take her back and that he thought she was obsessed with him.

He said: 'I think there is some sort of obsession with me, or us, and I just want to move on.'

'She may want me back, she did 100 per cent ask me to get back together with her romantically. She wanted us to spend Christmas and New Year together but I won't ever go there.

'All the stories about us getting back together are not true. I won't ever go back.'

But an angry Katie today issued a statement that was directed at the magazine and slammed Peter's claims.

And she said she was 'saddened' that he said she begged him for a reconciliation and questioned who exactly was obsessed with who.

Writing on her blog on her website today, she said: 'Peter's Heat interview was so full of spite that it is saddening. Was I devastated when Pete left me? Yes. Did I react badly to it. Yes. Am I over this - yes and I have been for some time. I don't want to be with him and I know he does not want to be with me.

'It is true that for a while we were getting on better and that (like many couples who have a history) there were discussions about what may have been and what might be if we got back together.

Point of view: Price wrote a lengthy statement on her official blog

'These conversations were, I thought, just between us where we both knew that the comments were light hearted "what ifs" and not serious. I had no idea that they would be used against me like this.

'Of course I sometimes think we should still be together for the sake of the Children, but I know that cannot and will not be the case. Nor is that what I want - I am not sure how many times I have to say it.

'Pete made clear in his New! column at the start of January that there was no hope of us going back together and I had said the same in a statement from my management.

He has repeated this line in an interview with OK! Now he has spoken about it again in Heat, yet apparently it is me that is obsessed?'

Price said she will always have respect for their marriage, which gave her 'two amazing children' but said she has no desire to get back with him.

And she concluded that she has no desire to get drawn into this again and added: 'I am sure this will be used as an excuse for another round of interviews by Pete calling me all sorts of names and making all kinds of accusations. I will attempt to stay quiet and leave my lawyers to deal with the matters that have been uncovered.'

Katie Price has tarnished a certain someone in her life as 'evil', without actually spelling out who she is referring to.

However, during the Twitter blast she insinuates the attack is directed at Peter Andre as the feud seems to have arisen over their children.

The tweet, posted today, speaks of the cruelty of 'a man' threatening to tell her child that she suffered postnatal depression when they were born.


Price, 33, also said the man in question is '2 sided' as he is 'evil 2 some' but behaves angelically when he is in the company of others.

The former glamour model wrote: 'Some men are so 2 sided and cruel, Evil 2 some and act a god to others unbelievable.

'How cruel is it when a man continues 2 threaten to tell your child your mother had postnatal depression when they were born an didn't bond'.

Price and Andre, 38, had two children together during their three and a half year marriage.

Junior, six, was born in June 2005, while four-year-old Princess Tiaamii followed two years later in June 2007.

The mother-of-three also has eldest child Harvey, who was fathered by footballer Dwight Yorke in May 2002.

Katie spoke openly about her postnatal depression during a book signing in Glasgow back in 2008.

She said: 'This book is the real truth about me... I was so low.

'But my message is that you can get help for depression if you are willing to speak out and ask for help.'

On the book description for third autobiography Pushed To The Limit it also states: 'She (Katie) has battled post-natal depression.'

Price sunk to such a low during her depression that she turned to medication and even spent time in The Priory to clear her head.

Speaking to OK! magazine at the time, she said: 'My depression got so bad that I actually turned to drugs. I was desperate to get out of my head.

'After I took it I thought this feels good. Shortly afterwards, I considered killing myself after Pete threatened to leave when I told him I’d taken drugs.

'Thinking I didn't have Pete any more, I was distraught and desperate. I seriously thought, shall I just end it now?

'Then I thought, what is wrong with me? You can't do this to the kids, to Pete, to your mum.'

In happier news, best friend Michelle Heaton has asked Price to be the godmother to her unborn child who is due in five weeks.

Formerly embattled exes Peter Andre and Katie Price are finally taking steps to rebuild their shattered relationship for the sake of their children.

The pair insist that the move is not a romantic one, though there will undoubtedly be speculation given their emotional past.

Despite years of public tension, the exes agreed to work things out following a series of phone calls.


'They're ready to move forward together and have discussed being seen in public again,' a family friend told The Sun.

'It'll be day trips with the children — working things out generally and taking those important steps to improve the relationship.'

'It's not romantic — but they know there will be speculation.'

Princess, four, Junior, six, and Harvey, nine- Katie's son with ex-footballer Dwight Yorke- will spend Christmas and New Year's Eve with Peter.

Though Peter, 38, has emphasised that he can never get back with Katie, he has also admitted that he felt 'sick' when he saw photos of her and the children together with cage fighter Alex Reid.

The glamour girl meanwhile showed her softer side when she sent Peter good luck tweets before his stint on I'm A Celebrity earlier this month.

Peter, who has been linked to stars including Elen Rivas and Kristina Macmillan, has admitted in interviews: 'I love her [Katie] as the mother of my kids. We're building bridges to try and be friends.'

Speaking to Piers Morgan during a Life Stories interview earlier this month, Peter said that 'business is finished' as far as he is concerned, but indicated that Katie might not be feeling the same way.

According to Closer, Katie's friends said she was 'in tears' as she watched her ex-husband in the jungle, where they had met in 2004.

A source close to her told the magazine: 'She broke down after seeing Peter's confession. She let the children stay awake to see him on telly and even texted him afterwards saying she adored him.'

Even her friends revealed that she is missing her ex more than ever, with best friend and close confidante Michelle Heaton admitting that she thinks Katie and Pete may have a second chance.

Speaking to heat, she said: 'I just think it's so amazing that Peter and Katie are so nice about each other now. It was such a special romance.'

'But being there was so emotional, it brought it all flooding back. He's said publicly they'll never be reunited but now he isn't so sure of what he wants.'

They live their life courting headlines, but Katie Price paid the price when she claimed Peter Andre did not love stepson Harvey as much as he said.

Today, the slander case was settled in the High Court as Price apologised for the 'hurt' her allegations caused.

She also agreed to pay undisclosed compensation and claims that he had an affair with his manager Claire Powell were withdrawn.

Andre was claiming damages and aggravated damages on the basis his ex-wife knowingly lied when she made her comments in Heat magazine.

In the 2009 interview, the 33-year-old model alleged Andre, 38, did not see Harvey as often as he claimed, claiming it was only about twice a fortnight.

The accusations came after Price was quizzed about Andre's latest single Unconditional, said to be about his love for nine-year-old Harvey.

Peter, who is currently in his native Australia appearing on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! is to put the money into a trust fund for Harvey.

He added: 'Ms Price accepts that the feelings for Harvey which Mr Andre expressed in the song were genuine and he was not being hypocritical.'

The Mysterious Girl singer also claimed damages for slander over comments made by Price on The Graham Norton Show in October 2009, in which she alleged he had an affair with his manager Clare Powell.

While the comments were not broadcast to the general public, they were overheard by the live audience, yet Mr Brookes said she now 'withdraws her claim unreservedly'.

Katie's solicitor Keith Ashby said she was happy to confirm 'that Mr Andre has been a good father to Harvey and has demonstrated his love for him on many occasions.'

Price, who also agreed to make a contribution to Andre's legal costs of the long running dispute estimated at £800,000, failed to appear at court for the hearing as she is in Dublin for a Lara's Boutique fashion launch event.

The couple who married in 2005 and divorced in October 2009 have two children of their own Junior, six, and three-year-old Princess; while Harvey is the son of former fling footballer Dwight Yorke.

And today the mother of his two children took to Twitter to wish her former husband luck, telling him to remember what she had told him.

Her mysterious tweet sparked rumours the pair had been back in touch since their recent bitter war of words.

Her tweet, posed just before 4pm, read: 'Good luck in OZ and remember what I said.'

The father-of-two jetted into Brisbane airport on Thursday morning (local time) and made a brief visit to his parents, Savvas and Thea, on the Gold Coast ahead of his TV appearance.

Although ITV is tight-lipped over what Andre will be doing in the jungle, he's up for a challenge.

He said: 'I’m on the ITV2 panel for three days, but I’m here for four days.

'They are not telling me what’s happening on the other day. They’ve blocked one day out and they’ve told me, "You’ll see what happens." I don’t know what they’re doing. Am I going in?'

Although already scheduled to join the panel on the ITV2 spin-off show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here Now!, Andre admitted he has one day in the camp he doesn't know what he's doing.


The father-of-two jetted into Brisbane airport on Thursday morning (local time) and made a brief visit to his parents Savvas and Thea on the Gold Coast ahead of his TV appearance.

'Pete and Kristina were seeing each other, but they're not right now. Luckily, they're still really good friends and there's no awkwardness between them,' the source said.

Peter, who is usually very vocal on Twitter, made no mention of his trip on the social networking site.

Neither did fellow Australian Angela, 31, who runs her own web design agency, is a celebrity chaperone and sings in a Pussycat Dolls style group Million Dollar Babes.

The couple were first linked together back in 2009, although Peter denied they were involved in a relationship at the time.

His ex wife is currently dominating headlines with her very public and continuous display of affection with her 25-year-old lover.

So perhaps Peter Andre thought it was time to to steal some of the spotlight back.

The Australian singer threw on some attention-grabbing workout gear that showed off his muscular physique and set off on a jog.

His hot and sweaty exercise session was captured by photographers and, of course, his film crew, so that the workout can be broadcast on his new season of Peter Andre: The Next Chapter.

Peter, 38, is on holiday Larnaca, Cyprus, where he has a house, where he fled to last week after his amicable split from Elen Rivas.

He is enjoying a sunny break with children Junior, five, and Princess Tiaamii, three, and Katie Price's son Harvey, eight, from her relationship with Dwight Yorke.

It's certainly what his ex Katie Price has been doing - the model is ensconced in her boyfriend Leandro Penna's native Argentina while her ex has the children.

The 32-year-old has been keeping fans abreast of her romance, tweeting a series of cheesy romantic pictures of her and Leandro kissing and posing together in La Cumbrecita in Cordoba after she met his parents.

Katie recently revealed that during her marriage to Peter she had some of guards up as a result of her ex-boyfriend Dane Bowers hurting her.

She said of Bowers, whom she dated from 1998 to 2000: ‘He was the only guy who completely taught me about having your heart broken.

‘I’ve always said that Dane’s the one who did that. Because of Dane, he’s made me have my barriers up and even with Pete, I’d like to say they all went down, but there were a couple still up.’
