It shouldn't happen to a Countryfile presenter: BBC star Julia Bradbury's dress comes undone on the red carpet

By Chris Johnson

Red carpet disaster: BBC presenter Julia Bradbury unwittingly exposed the side of her chest when her dress came undone at a military awards bash last night

Dressed in fishnet tights and a backless dress, she was clearly opting for a sexy look.

But Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury revealed a little bit more than she bargained for last night when the zip on her dress came undone.

The 40-year-old star suffered the ultimate red carpet wardrobe malfunction at a military awards bash as the unfortunate mishap saw her expose the side of her chest.

Seemingly unaware of her slip-up, the TV personality continued to pose for photographers at the London event, held at the Imperial War Museum.

Tweeting before the event, Bradbury described her outfit to fans, anticipating she was going to feel the chill in the wintry conditions.

'Off to ITV's "A Night Of Heroes" - little black dress, no coat, cold night..brrrrrr. All for a good cause.'

Say cheese: She posted a picture on Twitter from inside the venue, posing with Stacey Solomon and England footballer Rio Ferdinand

Little did she realise at the time that the cold weather would be the least of her worries.

She also posted a picture on Twitter of her posing alongside fellow guests, I'm A Celebrity winner Stacey Solomon and England footballer Rio Ferdinand.

Bradbury joined Countryfile in a storm of controversy back in 2008 when she was brought in to replace a raft of older presenters.

Miriam O’Reilly, 53, was axed from the show along with presenters Charlotte Smith, Michaela Strachan, and Juliet Morris - all in their 40s and 50s.

The ageism row was ignited again last month when former BBC 1 controller Jay Hunt was brought before an industrial tribunal where O'Reilly accused her of ageism and 'hating women'.

But Hunt, who was poached by Channel 4 in September to work as Chief Creative Officer, denied she was guilty of ageism or sexism, and claimed she had not made the decision to dump the presenter. The case continues.

Last night's The Night Of Heroes Awards is an annual ceremony that celebrates the bravery of the Armed Forces and military heroes.

It was hosted by Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield and will be screened on ITV1 on Friday night.

It attracted an army of stars, including David Beckham, who arrived with son Brooklyn, Holly Willoughby, Myleene Klass, Katherine Jenkins and Girls Aloud stars Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts.

Pregnant attendees Willoughby, who is due to give birth in May, and Klass, expecting in March, both showed off their respective bumps in their glamorous gowns.
